All countries are negatively impacted, but many developing countries are severely threatened by water scarcity and poor water quality. ■■ Climate change is having a growing impact on water sup- plies due to more extreme weather, droughts, floods, and shrinking glaciers. ■■ The water crisis is sparking some international conflicts, but is also encouraging collaboration between nations. ■■ In some areas, water is being treated as an economic good. This approach is raising many questions around equity and the ownership and control of natural resources. ■■ The water crisis is giving rise to a more international, sustain- able, and collaborative approach to water management.
